DinoPark
A unique expedition into the Mesozoic era....
Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus, Diplodocus and many other reptiles from the Mesozoic era create an exceptional exposition on a 3 ha area. In a woodland environment, there are placed several live sized dinosaur models equipped with a sound system, some of them are even to be seen in motion. Each model is controlled by its own computer and powered by an air power technology. The whole complex is synchronised by a master computer. Arranged sets, whether on the main or sideway path, simulate the life in the Mesozoic era part of which is an educational path informing about the evolution of life on Earth. Unique is also a 3D cinema where 2 screens are being projected at the same time, creating an illusion of plasticity of the perceived picture. On entry, each visitor obtains 3D polarised glasses through which it is possible to experience the whole event for free. Extremely rare is also a world wide significant Mesozoic plant placed in our DinoPark since 2006, called WOLLEMINOBILIS. In 1994, only 39 specimens of this primeval pine tree species were discovered in the Australian outback. For a botanist, meeting with this plant that thrived on Earth 175 million years ago is the same as for a biologist meeting with a real, alive dinosaur. There are also refreshment facilities – DinoCafe available at the DinoPark, as well as the possibility to buy souvenirs in DinoShop. For kids, the most popular attraction is the paleontological playground. DinoPark is opened during the same hours as the Zoo. Throughout the winter season, there are no models with sound system or in motion available, and the 3D cinema is closed.
